Detroit, Detroit..... and GM.

Today we visited GM's Lansing Delta Township plant. No pictures allowed inside. We were able to see GM's production process from metal stamping to final assembly and testing. It was a long walk, but seeing the details of their system was very fascinating.
After touring, GM invited us to the North American Auto Show. Here we could take pictures. And it was amazing! Here are some highlights:

LGO Domestic Plant Trek is underway! First stop, Caterpillar.

I know it has been a long time since my last post, but I'm on again, and just in time for the LGO Domestic Plant Trek! Today, we visited Caterpillar's Treaded Tractor division in Peoria, IL. Here are some highlight photos!

For the plant tour, pictures weren't allowed in the manufacturing areas, so no pictures there.

As part of the plant tour, we visited their simulation center, where we were able to drive simulations of Caterpillar machines. MIT was here.

We also attended their live product demonstration. We saw some of the amazing things Caterpillar machines could do. Then we climbed all over them!

Karaoke Again!! This time with video!

Once again LGO descends upon Thirsty Ear for Karaoke night. We go pretty regularly, but documentation doesn't always happen. Check it out!

Edit: Video is on hold until I can figure out how to properly put them up.

LGO 2013 IM Ice Hockey!

We have had a few ice hockey games so far. The reality of the situation is that we aren't all that good. In fact, we are terrible! But we have tons of fun playing anyway. I am the goalie part of the time.

Here are some pictures from them.

OneSloan Esplanade Cleanup

Sloan believes in giving back to the community too. On October 21, 2011, a big gourp of MIT Sloan students volunteered their time and cleaned up part of the Esplanade. The Esplanade is a park area along the river where many different events happen. It also has children's playgrounds and running paths. Check out the photos below of us trying to make a difference.

Bonding in All Atmospheres

At the end of September, the LGOs embarked on a 2-day camping trip. It was rainy, muddy, soggy. And then there was light, and hamburgers. All was well. Let's check out the highlights. In Autumn Hills Campsite, NH.

Graue with his "CHEESY POOFS!!!!" This became the theme snack for the trip.

Turned out to be a gorgeous weekend. These are the ones that stayed.
